We can offer lots of different typles of work ranging from research and exhibitions to collections work to events.

Architecture '08 - Family Art Workshop
Come and join and fun-packed family art workshop at the College.
At this friendly session with local artists Jon Lockhart and Kate Hince, you will create artwork inspired by the new building rising up above the College's current HQ in Bracknell.
You will work with cameras, scanners, computers, glue, pens and traditional artist's canvases in this highly creative mixed media workshop.
A fanstastic opportunity for families to work together on a piece of original artwork inspired by their own home town!

Architecture '08 - Your College: Its history and future
An evening talk about the new college building. Themes such as the environmental impact of the building will be discussed.
Everyone is welcome, particularly current and ex-members of staff and students, who are invited to come along and talk about their memories of the College.
We will also explore the theme of how buildings can shape and influence our lives through an oral history project.

I am researching the family of my ancestors, one of whom was Robert Gibson, Justice of the Peace [1796 - Abt 1867"> who lived at Sandhurst Lodge between 1841 and the time of his death. His grandfather, another Robert Gibson - saddler to the cavalry, and ultimately the army - having built the Lodge in 1789.
I should very much like to exchange information on the family, and contact would be appreciated.

The Forest Stitchers will be displaying some of their fantastice work. The society, formed in 1993 have enjoyed commemorating important points in Bracknell's history through needle work.

Heritage Open Days 2008 - Newbold College Gardens
Come and visit this beautiful, Grade II* listed garden designed by Oliver Hill. The garden is a rare example of his early work, which is being restored by Newbold College. Explore its linked courts and gardens, including a herb garden, water parterre, Italianate garden with partitions, pergola and pools.

Heritage Open Days 2008 - Pope's in the Park
A guided tour to discover the hidden beauty of Pope's Manor private grounds, once home to the famous poet, Alexander Pope. Our younger visitors will be able to take part in an interactive treasure trail.
Please note, this is a tour of the grounds only, the house is not open to the public.

Heritage Open Days 2008 - Rural Craft and Folk Day, Lily Hill Park
In conjunction with the Museum of English Rural Life we will be holding a Rural Craft and Folk Day at Lily Hill Park. there will be artsits and craft workers demonstrating such as weaving and spinning, a blacksmith and birds of prey. There will also be a basket maker offering the chance for people to make their own teapot stand.
Also take part in an Ancient Tree Hunt. Follow clues around the park and discover living beings hundreds of years old!

Heritage Open Days 2008 - South Hill Park: tour of the grounds and house
Come and enjoy an early afternoon historical stroll around the grounds of South Hill Park. This tour will take in the Ice House, and is partially wheelchair accessible.
Afterwards take advantage of the unique opportunity to join a led tour around the house, which is now a thriving arts centre and explore some of the myths and ghost stories that surround this historic building. The tour will also take in an exhibition on the history of the house.

Heritage Open Days 2008 - St Michael and St Mary Magdalene Church, Easthampstead
This prominent site has been associated with worship since at least 1159, and the present day church was built in 1867. There are many beautiful features in this church, including the magnificent stained glass windows by William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones. Within the adjoining churchyard you can see the grave of Thaddeus Delane, editor of the Times during the Crimean War.
There will be the opportunity to join led tours of the church, churchyard and bell tower. A churchyard tour for children will also be available.

Heritage Open Days 2008 - St Michael the Archangel, Warfield
Come and experience over 900 years of history by visiting Warfield's fascinating church. An exhibition spread throughout the church will explain the features and events which have happened on this site. Many of these features date back to before the fifteenth century, including the 'Devil's Door' and the'green men' hidden among the stone leaves. In addition there was much restoration work carried out during the Victorian period by the famous architect G.E. Street.
There will also be the opportunity to walk around the graveyard, where over 60 species of plants can be seen.

Heritage Open Days 2008 - St Michael's and All Angels' Church, Sandhurst
There has been a church on this site since 1220, and the present day church was built in 1853. Take advantage of the opportunity to explore some of its fascinating features, including a beam inscribed to Charles I from 1647 and its adjoining church yard. Members of the Parochial Church Council will be on hand to answer any questions.

Heritage Open Days 2008 - Wellington College: guided tours
This vibrant co-educational boarding school opens up its doors for Heritage Open Days. It was founded in 1859 and has a fascinating history. Come for a guided tour of the building which will take in the Chapel, the Great School and the Old Hall. The grounds will also be open for you to enjoy after the tour. Teas and coffees will be served after the tour.
